Rent by Municipality in Spain (2023)

Average rent in Spain is €648/month, but reality varies enormously by municipality. The 5 most expensive municipalities exceed €1,000/month — all in Madrid's commuter belt — while the cheapest are under €400. UrbanStatsLab publishes estimated rents for 705 municipalities with over 10,000 residents, based on the INE IPVA index.

The IPVA index tracks price evolution since 2015 (base 100). Applied to a provincial 2015 market reference, it estimates each municipality's current price. Data going back to 2015 shows which municipalities have risen most — and which have fallen — in the latest cycle.
